“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, King James Version)
I have always listened to my 3-year old daughter recite word after word John chapter three verse sixteen and do wonder whether she sees a picture of what Jesus means. Just like my daughter, many may have read and recited this verse without any revelation of what Jesus said about mankind. Jesus revealed God’s reconciliation plan for the entire world.
One may ask, why the need for man’s reconciliation with God? God’s word reveals that all have sinned by reason of Adam’s disobedience (Gen 3:6; Romans 3:23) and come short of God’s glory. Meaning that everyone born into this world possesses the Adamic nature, which is the nature of sin and requires reconciliation to continue fellowshipping with God. (2 Cor. 5:18a)
God enjoys fellowshipping with man (Genesis 3:8-9) and He wants this fellowship to continue. This redemption plan required Him to offer a sacrifice for expression of His love for man. God is not willing that any should perish but come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9); living according to His original plan before the fall of man.
God’s love paves the way for man to live and operate in the supernatural realm, that is living in eternity. Eternal life as used in some bible translations is the life of God (Zoe) and it is the gift of God presented to everyone through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23).This gift ushers us to a life void of sickness, lack, oppression and all that God can never suffer.
Many have rejected the gift of eternal life and are still enslaved to sin. It is time to embrace and enjoy God’s love. The opportunity is here for you to believe and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior so you enjoy God’s kind of life.
