“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8; KJV)

In my introductory article, I presented an overview of John 3:16. We will now dive deeply into each subject of Jesus’ word for Nicodemus and the entire world. For God so loved the world……; yes, in Romans 5:8 we are told that God proved or demonstrated His love toward us (world) while we were telling lies, committing murder, engaging in pre-marital and extra-marital sexual relation among others. Glory to God!
I will like to share a touching story with you from the Daily Encourager of a little boy from Chicago, selling newspaper in a cold night who didn’t understand what John 3:16 means but was treated with love.
This little boy walked up to a policeman and requested for a place to stay as he slept in a cold box along the street. The policeman looked down at him and said, “You go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out, you just say John 3:16 and they will let you in.” So he did, he walked up the steps to the door, and knocked on the door and a lady answered. He looked up and said, “John 3:16.” The lady said, “Come on in, Son.”
She took him in, set him around the fireplace, gave him food after staying hungry for a couple of days, and took him upstairs to a huge bathtub filled with warm water and he sat there and soaked for a while. He thought to himself, “John 3:16…. I don’t understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm, a hungry boy fed and a dirty boy clean. After attending to the little boy the next morning, she asked him, “Do you understand John 3:16?” He said, “No, Madam, I don’t. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it.” She opened the Bible to John 3:16, and she began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there he gave his heart and life to Jesus.
That is how so many people are living outside God’s plan and purpose for their lives, but He is always willing to embrace those who come to Him. He made us including the heavens and earth and regretted destroying man with flood in Noah’s generation (Gen. 8:21). God is love personified and He loves everyone on planet earth no matter your condition. God’s kind of love – agape, surpasses human understanding and not based on any condition.
Are you tired of living in the ‘cold’ as the little Chicago boy, come to Jesus Christ today; He will not send you away (Matthew 11:28; John 6:37). Decide to be born again (born of God) by saying this prayer. As you take that decision to embrace God’s love, we encourage you to in turn tell others about the love of God.
For someone reading this article, I see every chain of slavery in your life broken and falling off in the name of Jesus. Amen!
