God desires that His children enjoy all-round fruitfulness. I will discuss fruitfulness here as being productive spiritually; in mind, body and work. After God made the first man and woman, He blessed them and asked them to be fruitful.
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it” Genesis 1:28
God has buried seeds in every man and woman to enhance fruitfulness. He has distributed seeds in the form of His word, reproductive organs, gifts, talents amongst others. He wants us to bear fruits with the seed released to us. I will now discuss some areas one can be fruitful.
Spiritual Fruitfulness
God has blessed His children with all spiritual blessings including fruitfulness and His plan is that they become channels of His spiritual blessings in the society.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” Ephesians 1:3
These blessings make His children to live a Heavenly life on earth. Spiritual blessings can only be enjoyed by those in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). If anyone is in Christ, he or she is a new creature; living God’s kind of life – eternal life, by the help of the Holy Spirit.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philipians 2:13
The Holy Spirit takes over the life of anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and begins to manifest His fruit. The fruit of the Holy Spirit comprises love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). So people around every child of God want to see this fruit manifesting.
With the fruit of the Holy Spirit manifesting, you cannot struggle to show love and kindness and to lead lost souls to Christ. That is why Christ is looking for those who will bear fruits to beautify their lives.
“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit” John 15:2
God is spiritually fruitful because He gave Jesus Christ to have billions of souls across that nations of the world. I urge you to start being fruitful spiritually by giving your life to Christ, if you are yet to do so; and then ask Jesus Christ to baptize and fill you with the Holy Spirit. Take a bold step further by reaching out to the needy and lost souls with the love and peace of Christ.
Fruitfulness of Your Mind
Wikipedia, an online encyclopedia, defines the mind as the set of faculties including cognitive aspects such as consciousness, imagination, perception, thinking, intelligence, judgement, language and memory, as well as non-cognitive aspects such as emotion and instinct. So the mind is where thoughts are generated and pictures about issues of life are conceived.
The human mind is where ideas are born. Thinkers put the mind to work a lot. God wants us to use our minds productively. He listens to what goes on in one’s mind to take action. One’s ability to achieve anything great for God begins in the mind.
“But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.” (Philemon 1:14)
People with productive minds have established great business entities in different industries and sectors. Being fruitful in mind means using one’s mind to generate ideas and to develop products and services that will provide solution to identified problems.
We can make our minds fruitful by renewing our minds. You need to change your thinking pattern by dropping thoughts of old tradition, failure, impossibility and limitations. Think in line with what God has said concerning your life and endeavors. Every life endeavor can become better by thinking positively and creatively.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
Further, the mind can be fruitful by the acquisition of relevant information in one’s field of endeavor and constant reflection on new knowledge.
“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24:3-4
The mind is fruitful when less occupied with anxieties and evil thoughts, but filled with godly virtues and principles in line with Philipians 4 verse 8.
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Where you are now in ministry, business or any other endeavor is a result of your thinking yesterday as John Maxwell said, “Your life today is a result of your thinking yesterday. Your life tomorrow will be determined by what you think today.”
