Being in Health – III

I will continue this message by looking at other keys to walking in divine health.

Be a Word-addict

Many Christians have received Jesus Christ into their hearts, but have rejected and lack the knowledge of God’s word including divine health. God has instructed His children to give attention to His word so that they can continue to enjoy divine health.

“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22)

So many Christians struggle to read, study and meditate on the Bible. As soon as they pick up the Bible to read, they doze off in less than 10 minutes. Are you among this category of Christians? I use the blood of Jesus Christ to deliver you in the name of Jesus.

The more you become addicted to the word of God, the more every bacteria, virus, or any other disease causing organism is destroyed by the power in the word (Hebrews 4:12).

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Jesus said that His words are spirit and life (John 6:63b), so as you meditate on God’s word in faith, God’s kind of life and healthy being overshadow your cells and organs and in some terminal cases recreates ailing cells, organs and systems. Decide to be a word-addict today and begin to share your testimony of divine health.

“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

Be Strong in Faith

As you read and meditate on God’s word, believe and act on the word. Of a truth, faith comes by hearing God’s word.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17

You can activate the power of the word by taking a step of faith. For instance, Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses; do you believe this word of God? If so, begin to act it with the understanding that you don’t have that disease or sickness anymore.

The woman with the issue of blood saw Jesus Christ – the word, and by faith activated the healing power of Jesus through touching His garment. Do not believe the doctor’s report concerning your case but believe what God has said. Satan uses the doctor’s report to introduce fear into your life thereby giving him the way to further afflict you.

On several occasions, Jesus told the sick that experienced His healing miracle that their faith made them whole. You must believe that God can heal you of that sickness or infirmity for His healing virtue to flow no matter the level of affliction. Faith is a fundamental requirement that links you to the healing power of God. In Matthew 9:28, Jesus asked two blind men that cried out to Him whether they believed that He is able to heal them. That is the same question you must answer to experience your healing miracle today.

“And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.”Matthew 9:27-29

Be Useful to God

Are you useful to God? God revitalises those who are useful to Him according to John 15:2.

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

You become useful to God when you promote His kingdom by engaging in kingdom service. God’s faithful stewards enjoy divine health because He takes away sickness from them (Exodus 23:25).

“And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and He shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.”

You can engage in kingdom service by praying for salvation of souls; sowing your skills, time and finances to crusades, outreaches and church planting; and being active in the service groups or units of your local church.

Be Mindful of your Lifestyle

What kind of drinks or food do you take? How healthy is the food you eat daily? Are you the one that ignores medical advice on the dangers of smoking? Mind what you consume because what you take in can either destroy your body or improve your immune system. Are you the one that has multiple sex partners? Remember your body is meant to be the temple of God.

Take some time to fast and pray; staying away from food and fellowshipping with God because fasting cleanses and revitalises your body when you take enough water thereafter.

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?….. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.” Isaiah 58:6,8

How often do you maintain personal hygiene and engage in home and/or environmental sanitation? Personal hygiene and clean environment reduce the presence and adverse effects of disease causing organisms and vectors.

“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1

God is a promoter of exercise as well (I Timothy 4:8a) because exercising the body regularly makes the body systems work effectively.

“For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things..”

It is important to go for routine medical check-up as well. I join John, the Apostle, to pray that you be in health even as you prosper emotionally, mentally and financially in Jesus’ name. Amen!
