Like I stated in the first part of this discourse, God extended His Kingdom to planet earth and has placed His citizens in the earthly colony to subdue it (Genesis 1:28). The Bible tells us that God blessed Adam and Eve to replenish, dominate and subdue the earth. This blessing was to pass from Adam and Eve to all their descendants. It was a blessing of glory, honor, wisdom and power, however, all these were lost through disobedience.
God’s desire not to lose His Kingdom on earth, made Him to sacrifice His Son, Jesus Christ. Through Jesus, a believer is restored to dignity and honor. Jesus knew that anyone who receives Him as Lord and Savior becomes a citizen of Heaven and begins to operate with the ability of God; for this reason, He thought His disciples to pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
God’s will is that all His citizens have a continuous relationship with Him and live in supernatural victory, peace, protection, abundance, provision and joy. God’s will is that no one on earth should perish because He owns the earth and all the people in it. For this reason He deposits His Kingdom in every believer to deliver His will on earth (Luke 17:21).
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” Psalms 24:1
Although, His citizens dwell on earth, God desires that they are not cultured and affected by circumstances of the world. He blesses His citizens with spiritual blessings in heavenly places to effectively represent Him on earth. Every believer needs to be conscious of this truth, if not the Kingdom citizenship responsibility(ies) will not be carried out. God has given every citizen of Heaven responsibilities to fulfill. Let’s look at some of them.
Seek God’s Kingdom First
It is the responsibility of every believer to make God’s Kingdom a priority. Some believers feel they will enjoy God’s Kingdom when they get to Heaven. God’s Kingdom is now. The more you prioritize and advance God’s Kingdom on earth, the more you tap from the blessings of the King. To seek God’s Kingdom first, every believer needs to completely disconnect from the worldly culture. The culture of the earthly kingdom guarantees no peace, safety, abundance and joy.
When a believer carries out his or her responsibility to deliver God’s will on earth all the good things of life including sound health, riches and power will be enjoyed without sweat. When you continually seek God’s Kingdom, you lay up and withdraw blessings from your heavenly ‘bank account’ which can never have a negative balance. It is in seeking the Kingdom of God that you find the treasures of life.
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.” Matthew 6:19 – 20
From today make prayers for lost souls, God’s servant and the entire body of Christ a priority; make evangelism and soul wining a priority and make sowing financial or other seeds a priority and people will begin to glorify God because of what He is doing in your life.
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
Be a Faithful Ambassador
The colony of God’s Kingdom on earth is His Embassy occupied by His ambassadors. These ambassadors enjoy diplomatic immunity so they are not permitted to be affected by the global or country’s economy. They are exempted from the natural laws. They are paid in heavenly currency which is harder than the hard currencies of some countries and can never be devaluated. Every believer needs to understand this truth and be conscious of it daily. As an ambassador, a believer enjoys an inheritance in Christ that surpasses what the world can offer.
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20
In 2 Corinthians 5:19, the responsibility of Christ’s ambassadors is defined. They are mandated to reconcile the world to God. God is a dangerous soul winner; He sacrificed one Son to have many sons and daughters. His aim is to completely depopulate the kingdom of Satan. For this purpose, He anointed Jesus with power and the Holy Ghost while He was on earth. Jesus served as a faithful ambassador; going around to deliver those oppressed of the devil. The power of the Holy Spirit given to a believer (Acts 1:8) is not for a “Spirit-filled” title, it is for delivering lost souls to God’s Kingdom. An ambassador for Christ must protect God’s interest on earth and let his or her light shine before men. Let people see your good works as a believer for God to be glorified. Your conduct as an ambassador for Christ can make citizens of the Satanic Kingdom either remain where they are or decide to join you in the ‘Christ’s Embassy’ on earth.
Obey God’s Kingdom Principles
The Bible, the Constitution of God’s Kingdom, is full of laws and principles which every heavenly citizen must obey. One of such laws is that every citizen of Heaven reaps whatever he or she sows. If you sow love, a smile, a gift and so on, to God or your neighbor, you will definitely reap whatever sown; sometimes in multiples. Remember, citizens of Heaven are not meant to sow evil. One key principle that some citizens of Heaven fail to obey is giving from the blessings God has released to them. They have failed to understand that whatever they possess still belongs to God. God is the One who gives seeds to the sower or giver (2 Corinthians 9:10).
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness..” (New King James Version)
Just like we pay taxes to the government as citizens of the earthly kingdom, it is obligatory and mandatory for citizens of Heaven to sow financial seeds in the form of tithes, offerings and sacrifice. Sowing your finances, time, energy or other kinds of seeds guarantees your abundant blessings. May God help us to become and maintain our heavenly citizenship while we fulfil our responsibilities. Amen!
