There is a secret place God owns and controls, however, this place is open to only those who chose to inhabit it. It is a secret place where there is nothing hidden from the inhabitants. We can easily identify places on maps or by taking a trip to either spend some time there or reside. God’s secret place cannot be found on any map of the world. So, where is the secret place of God? How can we dwell in God’s secret place? Who are those qualified to dwell in God’s secret place?
The Bible tells us that God is a spirit (John 4:24). So God’s secret place must be inhabited by believers in the Spirit. The secret place is mentioned in three scriptural passages:
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1
“For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” Psalms 27:5
“Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” Psalm 31:20
In line with these scriptures, God’s secret place can be found by those who are always in the Spirit. It is an abode in the spirit realm occupied by those who worship God in spirit and truth. In God’s secret place, the environment is full of and secured by His presence. The secret place of the Most High is a place for revelation, protection and comfort.
A Place for Revelation
John was in God’s secret place when he got revelation about the church. He heard God clearly as a man hears his friend. To hear from God, a believer must have an intimate relationship with Him.
“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet.” Revelation 1:10
God is the Father of light, so darkness cannot reign in His presence. Those who dwell in the secret place are illuminated and they constantly access revelation knowledge. To access this secret place, we must labor in God’s word and prayers. God appears to His children by His word. The more a believer, reads, studies and meditates on God’s word, the more mysteries of God’s Kingdom are revealed to him or her. It is therefore important to spend time feeding on God’s word. By God’s word, you can receive divine guidance on how to address that long standing issue in your life.
“And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD.” 1 Samuel 3:21
Jesus Christ admonishes us to pray always. This is because at the place of prayer, God reveals secrets for overcoming the challenges of life. God has instructed His children to call upon Him and He will show them great and mighty things they never knew of (Jeremiah 33:3). This can only be achieved in His secret place. A believer who prays in faith does not lack strength, power and revelation from God. Power to overcome any unwanted issue is generated through heartfelt prayers. The devil is always happy when he succeeds in attacking a believer’s prayer life because he knows that believer has been rendered powerless.
Before David won the battle against the Amalekites, he was in God’s secret place to make inquiry. So many people have taken wrong steps in marriage, career, ministry, business and so on because they have failed to ask God for guidance.
“And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue.” 1 Samuel 30:8
This scripture reveals that from God’s secret place, a believer can easily defeat his or her enemies. God only delivers and honors those in His secret place – “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.” This shall be your testimony in Jesus’ name.
A Place for Protection
Only those who maintain constant fellowship with God can testify that He is their Refuge and Fortress. No witch, evil arrow, plague or satanic agent is permitted to penetrate God’s secret place.
“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” Psalms 91:2
The secret place of God is a place of hiding, rest, peace and comfort where a believer can just watch to see how God rewards the wicked.

God’s secret place is for those who love Him. If you love God, you will draw close to Him and He will definitely draw close to you (James 4:8).
