Seeing Light in God’s Light

Sunday Omori

In science we are made to understand that light is a form energy with which a human eye makes things visible. Light contains photons which are minute packets of energy. Energy is from a Greek word “energeia” which means work, activity or operation. Energy is the power that comes from sources such as heat or electricity, and the ability of sources such as heat or light to do work.

Light, whether a natural one (the sun) or an artificial one (a lamp), is a source of illumination. From the Scripture, light is the word of God – the constant written word in the Bible (logos) and the instant personal speaking of God (rhema). The word of God is the source of spiritual illumination and it gives abundant life.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105).

The Spirit of God – the light of the world, inspired men to write the Bible. The Holy Spirit is the author of all scripture and He is the One who can unravel or reveal the mysteries and deep secrets in it.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”(2nd Timothy 3:16)

The Bible tells us that in the light of God shall we see light – “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.” (Psalms 36:9) This means that if we identify with God, we will never walk in darkness (John 8:12). Furthermore, if we have an understanding of the word of God concerning the issues of life, our lives will always be illuminated and we will enjoy life to the fullest.

“The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (Psalms 119:130)

The word of God is for reproof, correction and instruction (2nd Timothy 3:16). It also comes in the form of commandments. When we obey the word of God, we become wise – “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.” (Matthew 7:24)

“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.” (Proverbs 6:23)

Many people live in speculation – without any clue of their purpose of existence. Many are confused about who to marry, the kind of business to do, the career path to follow and so on. Satan is oppressing and afflicting so many people with sickness, disease, setbacks and stagnation, to name but a few. This is because they are yet to see light in God’s light.

We see light in God’s light by experiencing power, receiving guidance and getting direction from God’s word.

Experiencing Power

God’s word has power to shatter darkness. Darkness connotes disease, sickness, spells, curses, limitation and any other unwanted issue. By the power in the word of God, you can overcome the spirit of depression and live in sound health and vitality. Locate the appropriate scripture for that unwanted issue in your life and with understanding come out of it. Believe, confess and act upon God’s word to eliminate that ugly situation.

“And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” (John 1:5 – Amplified Classic)

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 2:14)

Receiving Guidance

For us to fulfill purpose, we need God’s guidance. The word of God is a lamp unto our feet. In the midst of darkness, we can avoid pits and dangerous objects on our path using a lamp. That is what the word of God does – it shows us the right steps, values, principles thinking patterns and lifestyle to follow to get to our destination. You can only receive guidance per time to achieve your God-given vision through His word.

Getting Direction

The word of God is a light unto our path. It directs us to become what God wants us to be in the different departments of our lives. Ultimately, it directs us to live a purposeful life in Christ. So, if you are yet to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will not be fulfilled in life. Say this prayer of salvation: Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I believe that you died and rose again to save me. I declare that I am born again. I receive the gifts of forgiveness and righteousness. Thank You for accepting and glorifying me. Amen!

God speaks to His children through the still small voice and other ways. While meditating on the Scripture, He can give you direction in your area of interest. In Genesis 12, God directed Abraham to leave Haran for Canaan. As Abraham obeyed, he started enjoying supernatural abundance. Today, as you seek His light, He shall order your steps to your place of wealth in Jesus’ name. Amen!

“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21)

Many have missed the way to their calling, blissful marriage, satisfactory job, viable business and so on because they are yet to see light in God’s light. We need to ask the Spirit of God to open our eyes of understanding to see what God has in store for us and begin to enjoy them.

“Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.” (Psalms 119:18)

“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”(Ephesians 1:18)

God bless you!
