The Untouchable Spectator

Sunday Omori

In one of the church services I attended some years back, a woman shared a testimony of how armed robbers came to her neighborhood and carted away her neighbors’ valuable items and didn’t knock on her door. I have heard other children of God share similar testimonies of how God exempted them from evil.

The news media report daily cases of armed robbery, abduction, kidnapping, accidents, banditry, terrorism and cult violence, to name but a few. This is the reality in a world full of wickedness (see 1 John 5:19). Security agencies at all levels have played their role to protect the lives of people. Also, individuals and families make conscious efforts to protect themselves from all manner of evil. The truth is that protection of lives and property goes beyond human and diabolic efforts as these efforts are subject to failure (see Psalms 127:1). Satan and his agents are never tired of perpetrating evil daily.

In the midst of these wickedness, what do we do? The Bible assures those who trust Jesus Christ as their Refuge and Fortress that they can only be spectators of these wickedness (see Psalms 91:2,8). Those who are in Christ are translated into God’s protection zone (see 2nd Corinthians 5:17). As Refuge, God is able to provide safety to His children and as Fortress, He is strongly fortified against any form of attack. In fact, evil doers who attempt to attack a believer, are attacking God directly. In that position, a believer hides under the covering of the Almighty and no pandemic or any other form of evil can penetrate. The Bible declares that, “eleven thousand terrors, pestilence, evil plots and deaths may fall at the sides of a believer, but shall not come near him or her. Only untouchable spectators shall the children of God be.” (see Psalms 91:5-10 – Amplified Classic Version, emphasis mine)

God has promised those who believe in Jesus Christ that no plague, calamity or any form of evil shall come near them. So to become an untouchable spectator, you must accept Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior. If you are yet to do so, say this prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I accept You as my personal Lord and Savior. I believe that you died and rose again to save me. I declare that I am born again. I receive the gifts of forgiveness and righteousness. Thank You for accepting and glorifying me. Amen!

Congratulations, if you said the prayer of salvation. To keep being an untouchable spectator, keeping loving God, get to know more of Him and constantly fellowship with Him in prayer and meditating on His Word (see Psalms 91:14-16). God bless you!
