You will agree with me that some people will be angry at you when you visit them without being invited and that some events are strictly on invitation. That reminds me of a Nigerian celebrity who wedded not too long ago and invited selected persons he considered very important. Some people were angry because they were not invited to the classy wedding ceremony. We all have to choose if we are to honor an invitation or not. Many will honor an invitation because they see an opportunity to dine and wine, network or build and strengthen a relationship. Others may not honor an invitation because they are indisposed, or they see nothing to gain or lose.
How will you feel when the President of your country invites you to a dinner or a special event? Can you imagine how your day would be like when a wealthy celebrity or someone who loves you invites you to spend some time together? When you honor certain invitations, your life will definitely never remain the same because the interactions pave way for new life changing opportunities. At one point or the other we are faced with life challenges and cumbered with a load of cares and worries. Some are battling with a child that is misbehaving; others are trying to get out of debt and settle their bills while others are fighting a health problem. In the face of the global turbulent economy, many are struggling to feed and to meet other basic life needs. Many are living in fear because war has made life unbearable. What about those families affected by natural disasters? We are left with no option than to honor an invitation that will give us the much-needed peace and comfort amidst life challenges. Think about this invitation, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). It could be that your lifestyle is contributing to whatever challenge you are going through and you need a relationship that will enthrone peace and fulfillment.
This is an invitation from Jesus Christ – the King or all kings Who is greater than any president or celebrity that we can’t afford to miss or dishonor. It does not matter if you are rich, poor, young, old or sinful, the invitation is not restricted to any class or color of people. What is it that you need to lay down at His feet? Your life, your challenges, everything? If you are yet to do so, take a bold life-transforming step today to honor His invitation by saying this prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for extending Your love-filled invitation to me. Today, I accept and confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I believe that You died and rose again to save me. I declare that I am born again and will stay connected to You all of my days. Amen. Congratulations! Welcome to God’s family. Endeavour to locate a Bible believing church through the help of the Holy Spirit where you will be nourished with the Word of God for your spiritual growth.
