Wikipedia – an online encyclopedia, reports that as of 2020, Christianity had 2.382 billion adherents. Christianity is God’s lifestyle that 31.11% of the entire world’s population has embraced. God desires that the entire 8 billion people in the world today should come to the knowledge of Christ. This is because Jesus Christ is the Way to His unending peace, unspeakable joy and righteousness. Christ is the truth that reveals God’s character and integrity. He is the eternal life of God (See John 14:6).
So, no man can relate with God without knowing and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For this purpose, God commissioned all His children – those who profess and practice Christianity, to go into the world to preach the gospel to every creature, teaching all nations all that Christ has commanded (See Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15).
The figures above portend urgency and a wake-up call for every Christian. What proportion of the 69% of the world’s population that do not believe in God or are adherents of other religious groups have heard about God’s love in Christ? If the 2.4 billion Christians obey the great commission of teaching all nations (religions including atheists and those who are morally upright, professions, government, industries and so on) the life, principles and methods of God, the injustice, crime rates, moral decadence, oppression and all forms of evil in the world would drastically reduce. Testimonies abound of murderers and armed robbers who dropped their weapons to embrace Christ and are now advancing the interest of God’s Kingdom. They must have heard the gospel through someone.
This charge is for every child of God to use whatever opportunity or channel available to reach out to a soul bound for hell because God’s heavenly Kingdom is for those who have received Jesus Christ (See John 1:12). Jesus reminds God’s children that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few (See Matthew 9:37). A simple arithmetic shows that if 2.4 billion Christians across the globe go for two targeted lost souls each, lead them to Christ and they become disciples of Jesus, the whole world would have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and families, territories, nations saved and transformed.
We need to arise from our slumber to intercede for every child, youth, woman and man who is yet to know and receive Christ backing it up with preaching God’s Word. May the passion for lost souls come alive in every Christian in Jesus’ name. If you desire to join the family of God, say this prayer of salvation: Lord Jesus, I accept that I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sin. Come into my heart. I receive You as my Lord and Savior; I believe that You came, died for me and rose again to save me. Conform me to Your likeness. I declare that I am born again. Amen!
