Have we ever wondered why many marriages, businesses, careers and other life endeavors crumble after a while and others last for a life time? A great servant of God always shares with the congregation how God asked him to leave the bubbling city of Lagos where a lot of ministries thrive to Port Harcourt, a city where a lot of ministries struggle to survive and have global impact. He now pastors one of the famous and fast-growing churches in the South-south region of Nigeria because he received and moved by divine disclosure.
Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the early church in Galatia, narrated how he went to Jerusalem to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ because it was divinely revealed to him. He narrated, “I went because it was specially and divinely revealed to me that I should go, and I put before them the Gospel [declaring to them that] which I preach among the Gentiles.” (Galatians 2:2a, AMPC Translation) Obviously, he would not have succeeded or made great impact if he went to preach out of his heart desire. Therefore, not every move we choose or desire to make are in line with God’s guidance and instructions.
While we are free to make choices in life – who to marry, the kind of business to engage in, career path to follow and so on, it is important that we are well informed and we receive divine green light. This is because, “There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) Stories abound of how many businesses have died because the initiators lacked revelation. Many have relocated from their countries in search of greener pastures and later regretted their moves.
So, how then do we receive supernatural disclosure on life endeavors? The Psalmist gives us a clue in Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” He puts his trust in God and His Word which many have failed to do. Aside from learning God’s principles and methods from His Word – the Bible, God speaks to His children concerning what to do and how to go about it per time to experience growth and breakthrough because the secret things of life belong to Him (Deut. 29:29).
We need to also to spend quality time with the Holy Spirit in prayers. The Holy Spirit speaks to His children. Those who are conscious of and relate with Him have the benefit of receiving a revelation on any issue of concern. Hence, you can’t move by revelation if you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are yet to have a relationship with God, say this prayer of salvation: Dear Jesus Christ, come into my heart. I believe that You came, died and rose again to save me. I confess that You are my personal Lord and Savior and I declare that I am born again. Reveal Yourself to me and guide me on every life endeavor. Amen!
