A man of God ran out of gas or fuel after a church program and he told God about his predicament. He decided to go home – driving his car with an empty tank. How did that work out? He narrated that he spoke to the car to take him home and it obeyed. Of a truth, with God, we can speak to ugly situations for a turn-around. Because of our experiences, resources at our disposal and circumstances, we tend to think that certain things we desire cannot be achieved.
On several occasions, people have wondered how God will fulfill His promises because they focused on and analyzed their circumstances and ignored God’s ability. Zachariah was made blind because he didn’t believe what Angel Gabriel told him about the conception and birth of John (See Luke 1:18). Sarah laughed in unbelief because she knew that, according to man’s ways and biological realities, at her age and her husband’s, conceiving and giving birth to Isaac was not possible. She failed to know that God is never familiar with ‘menopause’ (See Genesis 18:12-14). In Mary’s case, out of curiosity, she asked how she was going to conceive Jesus Christ without the involvement of a man. This time, Angel Gabriel was lenient enough to explain to her that the Holy Ghost would form the child in her womb and that she didn’t need a man to impregnate her. The Angel added, “For with God, nothing shall be impossible” (See Luke 1:34-37). In Matthew 19:26, Jesus also declared, “With men this is impossible but with God, all things are possible.
It seems that our thinking and actions equation is: my capacity + my ability + other available resources and systems = solution. God is often missing in the equation of solutions to our problems. For this reason, we look at circumstances and conclude that certain things cannot exist or cannot be done. Furthermore, some doctors look at certain diagnostic reports and declare that a patient has a limited time to live. When we fail to limit God and recognize that with Him, our problems will fade away, He will always show up.
Each time we are awake, we care about personal, health, family, social, business, academic, career and other matters. However, God has instructed us to always cast our cares upon Him because He can do more than we ever ask or think (See 1 Peter 5:7; Ephesians 3:20). The fact that your issue of concern has lingered for some years does not reduce God’s ability to handle it. God made everything we see around us; therefore, He knows all the possibilities and can fix every problem. The next time we are faced with difficult situations and unwanted circumstances, let’s remember that the God Who made the earth, the air we breathe, the beautiful sky, the deep blue sea and gave the light its birth, cares for us. Let’s involve Him in our endeavors and go to Him for everything that we see as impossible.
Having a sustained relationship with God through Jesus Christ is a ticket to enjoying life’s possibilities. He hears the cries of His children. You can belong to God’s family by accepting Jesus Christ into your heart. Say this prayer of salvation: Dear Lord Jesus, from today, I accept and confess you as my Lord and personal Savior. I believe that you died and rose again to save me. Wash my sins away and shape my character. I declare that I am born again. Amen!
